Type that reads from eight metres
What a control room taught me about type sizes, contrast and never relying on colour alone.
Distance is a design input
On Coldframe the screen hung eight metres from the nearest operator. We set the smallest text by walking to the back of the room.
Every state has a shape as well as a colour, so the dashboard works for everyone on shift.
